The School of Economics and Management Science at the University of Ioannina was established\nin 2018, following the integration of the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Epirus into\nthe University (Law 4559\/2018). The Faculty comprises two Departments:<\/p>

\u2013 the Department of Economics, based in Ioannina, and<\/p>

\u2013 the Department of Accounting and Finance, based in Preveza.<\/p>

The Department of Economics was established by Presidential Decree 364\/1996 and welcomed\nits first cohort of students in the academic year 1998 \u2013 1999. Its mission is to promote and\nadvance the discipline of economic science, while educating economists with strong theoretical\nfoundations and analytical skills. Graduates are equipped to study, understand, and apply\neconomic theories, contributing to the interpretation and forecasting of economic phenomena\nand supporting economic development.<\/p>

The Department of Accounting and Finance was founded by Presidential Decree 84\/2013,\nthrough the merger of the former TEI of Epirus Departments of Accounting and of Finance and\nAuditing. The Department aims to foster knowledge and research in the fields of accounting and\nfinance, as well as to train professionals capable of analyzing, designing, and managing financial\noperations across both the private and public sectors.<\/p>

The School of Economics and Management Science is an integral part of the academic\ncommunity at the University of Ioannina. It actively contributes to the generation and\ndissemination of scientific knowledge, the cultivation of critical thinking, and the integration of\ntheory with practice. The School also plays a key role in supporting the sustainable development\nof the Epirus region and the nation, while preparing young scientists to navigate the challenges\nof an increasingly complex and dynamic economic environment.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
